Cool Baby is on a mission to provide a unique and fun way to celebrate a baby while making a difference in the lives of children.
Hi I’m Alex, a mum of 2 beautiful children. I created Cool Baby in response to the unexciting array of baby gifts available on the market.
Before I had my children, I was so excited that I bought everything that I needed, soft toys, clothes ( some had been purchased 10 years ahead of their arrival) you name it I had bought it all.
So when it came to my baby shower I literally had everything I needed. I found it to be one of the most exciting parts of preparing for a new arrival.
Since then, I have come to realise most parents are the same, which led me to start thinking about developing some fun ideas for baby shower gifts rather than the practical and slightly boring gifts available.
During my research, I noticed that every store had the same uninspiring items, which most parents either already have or preferred to choose for themselves. Onsies, soft toys, wraps, blah blah they were all the same.
That’s when I had my aha moment – while the gift is intended for the baby, the baby is too young to appreciate the difference between receiving a onesie, a soft toy or a block of wood. Therefore, it makes more sense to cater to the tastes and preferences of the parents-to-be.
But what could be a fun gift that would be useful for the baby as well as appealing to the parents?
I thought back to when I was searching for items for my own babies, and I remembered how much I enjoyed putting outfits together for them. I used to scour the internet for a shop that offered full outfits, including accessories like shoes, hats, headbands etc., but unfortunately, I could not find a single store that had what I wanted. It was this realisation that inspired me to create my themed baby boxes, a concept that involves curating items that complement one another to create a complete themed outfit for a baby.
What makes us unique?
Our brand is fun, playful and the opposite of the bland competitors on the market. Which makes us stand out from the crowd.
When you buy one of our products you are also contributing to disadvantaged children across Australia through the Barnados Children’s Charity. Supporting Barnados inspires Cool Baby to do the best we can, as the more boxes we sell the more we can donate!
